Scott Corbin de Baschemin
Scott Corbin de Baschemin

Scott Corbin de Baschemin picked up his first guitar at age 11 and has been playing ever since. His professional music career began in 2001 when, at age 18, he became a studio guitarist in Orlando, FL at the private recording studio of Eric Schilling (known for engineering and mixing for artists like Julio Iglesias, Gloria Estefan, and Santana). He then grew to work in the largest recording facility in Orlando, KDS Recording Studios (formerly Transcontinental Studios and home of Transcontinental Records where artists like The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and Brittany Spears launched their careers), before expanding to work in studios such as Avatar and Quad Recording Studios in New York City.

In his tenure as a studio guitarist, Scott has been instrumental in shaping the sound of actor and singer Tilky Montgomery Jones as he launched his solo career after being a member of the band Take 5. Scott performed as lead guitar on Jones' 2013 EP "Aesthetic Experience". Over the years he’s worked with numerous other artists including Prince guitarist and protégé Andy Allo. Scott is the lead guitarist of the group Casely and The Jank with whom he has helped develop an original sub-genre of pop music called "Jank" which inspired the name for The Jank Guitar Store.

Being involved in the community has always been very important to Scott. He’s used his connections in the music industry to help give young people in his hometown of St. Charles and around the world access to professional guitar instruction and mentorship through The Jank Guitar Store which opened in St. Charles, IL in 2015 and will expand to a second location in St-Malo, France in 2020.

He continues to work consistently between Capitol Records in Los Angeles and private studios in Malibu, CA with various artists and projects. He works with a team of 15 people at the Jank Guitar Store to provide all his students the best quality guitar lessons available with in-depth, practical instruction on need-to-know material for the person looking to be an expert in the guitar.
